What is Hagoita

Hagoita is sent for new born baby girls as a new year decoration. It is a battledore. A set of a battledore and a shuttle cock are displayed for a girl who are glowing up with good health. The black part of the shuttlecock is made from "Mukuroji" whose Chinese characters mean "Healthy offspring". On the other hand, Kabuki Hagoita is well known as a gift from Japan. The Hagoita features Kabuki actors from long time ago. Both Hagoita made with "Oshie" technique.
