Fifth tier decoration
This altar has three men and flowers.
Dolls: They are called San-nin shichou or Jichou. Flowers: Sakura, tachibana, it means cherry blossom and oranges
San-nin Jicho
They are three men servants of the imperial palace. They are expressive because of ordinary people.
Equipment they hold are different from depending on the local location.
These equipment are used in East region in Japan. From on your left to right, dai-gasa, kutsu-dai and tate-gasa. Dai-gasa is a hat which is put on the stick for Samurai. they are taken on their head when it is rain. Kutsu-dai is a table to put or carry emperor's shoes. Tate-gasa is a parasol. West region has a different style. Western style is clean up equipment. They are a broom, a dust pan and a pitchfork.
Sakura Tachibana
These ones are basic style, an orange tree and a blooming cherry tree. They are called Ukon-no-tachibana and Sakon-no-sakura. They are from the Kyoto Imperial Palace.
Ko-haku-bai
Koubai and hakubai are unusual for the decoration of seven-steps-altar display. However they are often used for Hina-ningyou sin-nou kazari.
Koubai means red plum blossoms, and hakubai means white plum blossoms. The combo of red and white colors are important because it has good meaning for Japanese people. They have believed that white color means the most clearness and red color will protect people from the evil.
