Ito Jakuchu
- Ito Jakuchu (1716–1800) was a painter from the mid-Edo period who is known for his original paintings of flowers and birds, using vivid colors and detailed depictions. Born into a merchant family in Kyoto, he retired at the age of 40 to devote himself to painting. His works are characterized by their vivid depictions of plants and animals, such as his masterpiece "Dobutsusai-e."
Old Pine and Peacock
- Jakuchū Itō’s Old Pine and Peacock is a celebrated kachōga (bird-and-flower painting) depicting an ancient pine with a magnificent peacock. The bird’s feathers are rendered in exquisite detail, contrasted with the strength of the pine to create a solemn composition. The peacock symbolizes wealth and nobility, while the pine represents longevity, making this an auspicious masterpiece suited for celebratory and formal settings.
High-definition art painting (hand-colored complementary colors)
The work is printed on a Shin-ken-bon (High quality printing paper) using cutting-edge giclee printing techniques adopted by famous art museums around the world to produce replicas, and the final finish is hand-colored with complementary colors to create a realistic look. It is weather-resistant and not easily decomposed by light or ozone in the air, so the color tone is less likely to change over time and the beauty will not change.
