Hayami Gyoshu (1894–1935) was a Japanese painter active from the Taisho to the early Showa periods, who pursued a style that combined realistic observational skills with a unique aesthetic sense. In his early years, he placed importance on detailed depiction, but later incorporated decorativeness and symbolism, bringing innovation to traditional Japanese painting. His works are characterized by precise brushwork depicting tranquil scenes of nature and everyday life, and lyrical compositions with subdued colors. Although he was a short-lived painter, he made a profound contribution to the modernization of Japanese painting.

The simple composition, which makes use of the white space, features a quietly standing Java sparrow, giving it a very refined impression. Gyoshu's sensibility and aesthetic sense are apparent in his affectionate and poetic depiction of the Java sparrow, a familiar presence.
High-definition art painting (hand-colored complementary colors)
The work is printed on a Shin-ken-bon (High quality printing paper) using cutting-edge giclee printing techniques adopted by famous art museums around the world to produce replicas, and the final finish is hand-colored with complementary colors to create a realistic look. It is weather-resistant and not easily decomposed by light or ozone in the air, so the color tone is less likely to change over time and the beauty will not change.
