First dream of good fortune
With the crimson-hued sacred Mount Fuji in the background, a hawk is seen clutching good fortune in its sturdy talons, perched on an old pine tree, a symbol of longevity, with eggplants bearing fruit, which are associated with accomplishment. This scene is said to bring good luck for the year, and is said to have originated from a prophecy made by Ieyasu when he went falconry in the forests of Mount Fuji, where he would later take over the country. The pine, bamboo, and plum trees, which are celebrated as the "three friends" of the coldest season, add color to this extremely auspicious and popular piece.
High-definition art painting (hand-colored complementary colors)
The work is printed on a Shin-ken-bon (High quality printing paper) using cutting-edge giclee printing techniques adopted by famous art museums around the world to produce replicas, and the final finish is hand-colored with complementary colors to create a realistic look. It is weather-resistant and not easily decomposed by light or ozone in the air, so the color tone is less likely to change over time and the beauty will not change.
