• Yokoyama Taikan (1868–1958) was a master of modern Japanese painting. He was involved in the founding of the Japan Art Institute and is known for his style of painting using the Boksensai technique . His representative works include "Life and the Flow" and paintings of Mount Fuji. He was awarded the Order of Culture and made a great contribution to the development of modern Japanese painting.
