Hayami Gyoshu
Hayami Gyoshu (1894–1935) was a Japanese painter active from the Taisho to the early Showa periods, who pursued a style that combined realistic observational skills with a unique aesthetic sense. In his early years, he placed importance on detailed depiction, but later incorporated decorativeness and symbolism, bringing innovation to traditional Japanese painting. His works are characterized by precise brushwork depicting tranquil scenes of nature and everyday life, and lyrical compositions with subdued colors. Although he was a short-lived painter, he made a profound contribution to the modernization of Japanese painting.
Yozakura (Night Cherry Blossoms)
Hayami Gyoshū’s Yozakura, painted in 1928, depicts white cherry blossoms blooming in the stillness of night. Open flowers, buds, and young leaves are carefully arranged along a branch extending across the composition, making the blossoms appear to glow softly in the darkness.
Delicate observation from life is combined with a decorative composition that makes skillful use of empty space. The painting evokes the purity of moonlight and a mysterious nocturnal atmosphere. It is a quiet and elegant work in which Gyoshū’s realism and decorative sensibility are beautifully united.
Mini Hanging Scroll
This compact hanging scroll is designed to resemble a traditionally mounted scroll. The decorative fūtai strips are integrated into the upper fabric, and the roller ends are made of resin. Its compact size makes it as easy to display as a poster, while its affordable price allows you to enjoy Japanese art casually.
High-Definition Art Reproduction with Hand-Applied Color
The artwork is reproduced on specially prepared Shinkenpon, a silk-like fabric, using advanced giclée printing technology also employed by major museums worldwide for fine-art reproductions. The final details are enhanced with hand-applied color to create a more vivid and realistic appearance. The materials offer excellent resistance to light and ozone, helping preserve the original colors and beauty over time.
