How to insert a Tamabuchi.

FIG. 1

The arrow indicates the direction of the fabric. First, cut it to an appropriate length and 1cm wide.

    FIG. 2

Next, deepen the groove where the edge of Tamabuchi will fit and pour in glue.

      FIG. 3

Fold Chirimen in half and place it so that the groove is roughly in the center.

        FIG. 4

Press the Chirimen into the groove with the inside of the folded part facing inwards.

          FIG. 5

          Cut off any excess parts.

            FIG. 6

Tuck it in a rolling motion. Be careful not to pack it in too tightly so that the "tamabuchi" doesn't get stuck in the groove.

              FIG. 7

                FIG. 8

This is an especially important point. Once the edge is set as in Figure 6, fold the Chirimen in half as shown in Figure 7, and pull it while setting it as shown in Figure 8. At this point, apply glue to the grooves beforehand.

                  FIG. 9

As in Figure 6, cut off the excess parts and determine the shape as shown in Figure 9.

                    FIG. 10

After that, just repeat the same process. It won't work if you try to do it all at once, so I recommend doing it about 2cm at a time.

                    Finished product

The main points to remember are to make the grooves where Tamabuti will go deep enough in advance and not to apply too much glue.
