International shipping from Japan

JUHO TOUGEI ships traditional Japanese seasonal displays from Japan to customers and gift recipients worldwide. Our products include Hina dolls (Girls’ Festival displays), Gogatsu dolls (May Festival displays), and other Japanese seasonal decorations.

In addition to complete displays, such as Hina doll sets and samurai helmet or armor displays, we can ship individual items, including folding screens, display stands, lanterns, cherry blossom and mandarin orange trees, and glass or acrylic display cases.

Gift orders for international delivery

You may place an order for delivery to a family member, friend, business associate, or other recipient in another country or region.

We carefully select the packing method and available shipping service according to the item’s size, weight, construction, and destination.

Shipping methods

International orders are generally shipped from Japan by EMS (Japan Post) or an international courier service such as UPS. The available shipping method depends on the item’s size and weight, the destination, and the customs requirements of the destination country or region.

EMS: Suitable for many standard international shipments, offering a balance between shipping cost and delivery time.
International courier services such as UPS: Generally used for larger shipments, destinations not served by EMS, or certain DDP arrangements.

Customs duties and taxes

International shipments may be subject to import duties, taxes, customs clearance fees, and other charges imposed by the destination country or region.

Unless DDP shipping has been arranged in advance, orders are shipped under DAP terms. Under DAP, any applicable import duties, taxes, customs clearance fees, and related charges must be paid by the recipient.

Shipments to the United States

Orders valued at USD 800 or less: Shipped by EMS under DDP terms, with applicable duties and taxes prepaid. No additional payment will normally be required from the recipient upon delivery.
Orders valued at more than USD 800: Usually shipped under DAP terms, with applicable duties, taxes, and customs clearance fees payable by the recipient.

For orders valued at more than USD 800, DDP shipping by an international courier service such as UPS may be available upon request. Please contact us before ordering.

DDP shipping to other destinations

For certain destinations and upon request, we may be able to arrange DDP shipping. Under DDP, applicable customs duties and import taxes are included in the amount paid by the person placing the order, so the recipient will not normally be required to make an additional payment upon delivery.

DDP shipping is generally arranged through an international courier service and may involve higher shipping and handling costs. Available services vary by country and region.

For business shipments to the European Union or the United Kingdom, the recipient may be required to provide an EORI number or other information needed for customs clearance.

Recipient consent is required for gift shipments

We do not accept surprise gift orders for international delivery without the recipient’s prior consent.

Before placing your order, please inform the recipient that a parcel will be sent from Japan and obtain their consent to receive it.

If an order is placed or shipped without the recipient’s prior consent, we cannot accept responsibility for non-delivery, refusal, return, storage, disposal, customs duties, or any other related costs.
