Hayami Gyoshu
Hayami Gyoshu (1894–1935) was a Japanese painter active from the Taisho to the early Showa periods, who pursued a style that combined realistic observational skills with a unique aesthetic sense. In his early years, he placed importance on detailed depiction, but later incorporated decorativeness and symbolism, bringing innovation to traditional Japanese painting. His works are characterized by precise brushwork depicting tranquil scenes of nature and everyday life, and lyrical compositions with subdued colors. Although he was a short-lived painter, he made a profound contribution to the modernization of Japanese painting.
Heibaizu (Plum Blossoms in a Vase)
Hayami Gyoshū’s Heibaizu, painted in 1932, depicts red and white plum blossoms arranged in a Ko-Imari porcelain jar decorated in red enamel. The branches were brought to Gyoshū by a disciple from Heirinji Temple, where the artist had once practiced Zen meditation, and were carefully observed and painted as flowers filled with personal memories.
The vigorously spreading branches are captured with sharp lines, while the delicate red and white blossoms and the intricate decoration of the jar are rendered in fine detail. The generous empty space and vivid red foreground create a striking contrast, bringing together the tension of close observation and rich decorative beauty. Combining the traditions of Japanese painting with a modern sensibility, this is an elegant work from Gyoshū’s later years.

Mini Hanging Scroll
This compact hanging scroll is designed to resemble a traditionally mounted scroll. The decorative fūtai strips are integrated into the upper fabric, and the roller ends are made of resin. Its compact size makes it as easy to display as a poster, while its affordable price allows you to enjoy Japanese art casually.
High-Definition Art Reproduction with Hand-Applied Color
The artwork is reproduced on specially prepared Shinkenpon, a silk-like fabric, using advanced giclée printing technology also employed by major museums worldwide for fine-art reproductions. The final details are enhanced with hand-applied color to create a more vivid and realistic appearance. The materials offer excellent resistance to light and ozone, helping preserve the original colors and beauty over time.
