• Mountains: Mountains can symbolize stability, strength and permanence, and may also represent goals or ideals. The rugged peaks in the distance convey the grandeur of Kamikōchi’s natural scenery, combining tranquility with a sense of power.
• Water and the Shore: As a source of life, water can symbolize movement, change and flexibility. Reflections of mountains and trees on the calm surface evoke natural harmony and serene stillness.
• Standing Dead Trees: Bare trees rising from the water create a distinctive scene reminiscent of Taishō Pond in Kamikōchi. Their delicate branches and reflections suggest nature’s transformations and the passage of time.
• Forest and Woodlands: Trees evoke vitality, growth and prosperity. Dark green trees and softly colored shrubs along the shore contrast with the bare trunks in the water, giving the landscape depth and visual richness.
• Rocks: Rocks can symbolize stability and resilience. Those clustered along the shore provide a firm contrast to the softness of the water, lending calm and a sense of solidity to the scene.
• Mist: Mist drifting around the lower slopes and through the forest evokes nature’s tranquility and changing moods. It gently connects the distant peaks with the water in the foreground, creating a dreamlike landscape with a sense of depth.

High-Definition Art Reproduction with Hand-Applied Color

• The original artwork is reproduced on specially prepared Shinkenpon using high-definition giclée printing, with hand-applied color added during the finishing process. Fine printed detail and hand coloring combine to enhance the tonal variations of the mountains and the tranquil appearance of the water.
• The materials offer resistance to color changes caused by light and ozone, helping preserve the artwork’s beautiful tones over time.
